to the lighthouse

Exploring Österlen last week, a part of southern Sweden where I haven't been before, at least that I can recall. Gorgeous views, and best of it all - this lighthouse hiding behind a cluster of trees. I imagine some Tove Jansson-esque character living there.

  4. Hello! I'd just want to say that I absolutely love your work and you're my big inspiration, Annette. Something I like the most is that beautiful, natural light on your photographs (I think I can see it especially on photo from ,,a slow sunday" post, for example).
What app/computer program do you use to edit your digital pictures? I've been actually playing with VSCO for a week, it's quite nice, but edited photos looks a little bit amateur. Maybe I just need to practise more and get into this app.
Ps. This little lighthouse is gorgeous!

    1. Hi Juliet! Thanks for your sweet words :) I mainly use photoshop and I basically just work with curves and selective colors. But, if I feel I can't get the colors just the way I like I actually send them over to my phone to edit in VSCO instead. It's my favorite app (I edit all iphone-photos with it) and an easy way to control colors.

I would recommend buying some extra filters in the app if you want more choices, if you haven't done that already. I can't remember which filters are included when you first download the app, but I remember there weren't many options that I liked in the beginning - I've bought basically all available filter packs since then, but at the most I have no more than five "go-to"-filters that I use regularly.

Play around some more, it's nice to work with when you get the hang of it :) And as always I think less is more, so reducing the strength of a filter to between 5-8 works best, and then doing some finishing touches with the other editing options, if needed.

    2. Thank you for nice advice!
Two months ago I downloaded a trial version of Lightroom. It seemed very professional, but it was also easy to edit photos in it. I think VSCO is a great replacement app, but for more amateurish photographers :D
I looked at these extra filters, but I'm not sure if I need them. I prefer to edit everything by myself (sliders with tint, temperature, saturation), but I think I'll get some of them if I buy a Google Play card (I can't pay just through phone, idk why).
Thank you one more time :) By the way, sorry for this little spam, I don't know why my comment has been added 3 times...
