self-portrait photography - the book

I received a nice package in the mail today; a book entitled 'Self-portrait photography - the ultimate in personal expression' that is written by Natalie Dybisz (you might be familiar with her as Miss Aniela on flickr), a book in which I am included amongst Natalie herself and seven other photographers.

The book is not just about our photographs, instead it covers basically everything from the history of self-portraiture, techniques, equipment and processing to sharing, marketing and selling your photography, along with eight "spotlights" in which eight different photographers, including myself, share details about their work. I haven't started reading the book yet (I'm also a bit scared to read the pages I've written), but from what I can tell it seems to be a very handy and informative book that tells you everything you need to know.

The seven other photographers included in the book are the following: Federico Erra, Lucia Holm, Yulia Gorodinski, Noah Kalina, Jon Jacobsen, Joanne Ratkowski and Rossina Bossio.

You can read more about the book at Natalie's blog, and it is available to buy at Amazon UK and US (along with other bookstores as well, probably).

I Sverige kan man köpa boken hos Bokus!

kisses

I went through my entire archive yesterday as my mum wanted some prints, and I found this. They're so sweet.

++++

I love miniature food, and last night Leo and I made tiny pies (or cup-pies, as they would say in Pushing Daisies). We had the tiny crusts filled with blueberries, raspberries and caramelized apples+cinnamon and pears. I don't think these images does them justice, they were much tastier than they look.

b&w

Happy valentine's day, I guess! These frames are from 2008 and 2009.
Oh, and I've mostly been shooting analogue lately + I'll be a better blogger when I get home in a few days. For some reason I always feel uninspired at Leo's house. It's probably the weather's fault though.
(+ a lovely movie - Paris.)

trees and you

A few days ago I realized that it was possible to do double exposures with the polaroid image system (a spectra-camera, basically), or I have been aware of it for quite some time - but I always thought it would be difficult and that it would require some kind of modification of the camera. It turns out that isn't the case at all, and it's actually rather easy to do it. This is the first one I did yesterday. Not too fond of how the image itself turned out, but double exposures are always fun. I should experiment some more.

a lack of colour

I wish the winter would go away soon. Everything is just cold, grey, boring and uninspiring. Right now I'm mostly sitting indoors, eating cookies and reading Murakami. (Three frames from the latest zenit-roll.)

Leo bought a new 35mm camera (a pentax spotmatic) a while ago, and this is a frame from his first roll.
Please excuse my ridiculous posture.
